Recreation in McDuffie County While Social Distancing

Remember that social distancing DOES NOT mean that you cannot leave your house. Just keep a reasonable distance from people and don’t touch your face before you can wash your hands and sanitize! Here are some suggested things to do while still observing social distancing.

Here are some options for getting out of the house while still social distancing:

Grab your camera and photograph our countryside as Spring begins to bloom! This is the perfect time to learn how to use that digital camera, or put your new iPhone camera to the test.

Take a selfie in front of the mural on Railroad Street, and tag our social channels @visitthomsonga. It’s also a great opportunity to share some of our history with your kids. The mural features historical places and people from the county.

Bird watch at the McDuffie Public Fishing Area, or a local Wildlife Management Area, or the Little River Water Trail. Take a camera! Share your photos with us!

Take your kayak out on the Little River Water Trail for a paddle. This is a great way to relax and get away from all the noise of social media.
