What is the best way to get to Augusta National from Thomson and avoid the traffic?
Getting to Augusta National from Thomson is a very quick and easy but you will want to follow this map to avoid the congested areas of Washington Road. You will be taking the back roads and coming into the area from behind Augusta National. It’ll save you as much as half an hour each day and there is plenty of parking. Visit the map page.

I would like to play some golf while I am in Thomson?
Belle Meade Country Club will have tee times available for people visiting Thomson during the week of Masters. Requests for tee times are now being accepted, call Belle Meade for a reservation at (706)595-4511.

I cannot do a lot of walking; can a wheelchair be rented at the tournament?
Wheelchairs are allowed on the course but the Augusta National Golf Club does not rent out wheelchairs.

I am not planning to rent a car; do hotels in the area provide shuttle service?
Yes, many hotels provide shuttle service from hotel to golf course and back, at a nominal cost or not at all.

Where can I park once I arrive to the golf course? How early do I need to be there?
The Augusta National Golf Club has allocated a very large area of free parking spaces during the Masters Tournament. Gates normally open at 8am daily during the tournament. Download a map of the free parking area.

What is the best food item to sample at the tournament?
Who knows all of the ingredients — after the pimento and cheese, of course — that go into the Pimento cheese sandwich, which still costs only a $1.50. Whatever it is, you can get hooked in an instant. Some people might not appreciate the squishy consistency, but wash this down with a Coke or pale ale and you’ll feel full for hours.

What is the dress code?
Appropriate clothes and shoes should be worn at all time. You will mainly see golf casual on the course. Layers are also recommended since mornings are still a little cool.
